Nice mock draft, surprised to see Morin left out. Would actually rather him for the habs than Gauthier. |

I really hope the draft goes in that particular order so the devils get Monahan! Chances are unlikely but still hopeful this happens! |

Good job boys. Don't really put too much stock into the rankings, but the reasoning is the important part to me. |

Are we not counting Thomas Vanek as Austrian-born for some reason? |

Still a lot of big names on the board, starting to see what people mean about this year's depth and that from 15 to 50 it can go one of many different ways. |

I REALLY hope the Habs move up and grab Anthony Mantha because I don't think he will be there when we draft.
50 goals in junior (only draft eligible player to do so)
6'4
200lbs
From Quebec
Grandfather won a cup with the Habs
Get him! But if not then I don't mind the Gauthier pick |

I want the best Player selected by the Habs, not the best Francophone..If we see Rychel slipping, maybe throw a Third rounder to move up a few spots. Just remember how selecting a French kid got us Louis Lebust!! |

You guys will be fine. I think your top 3 picks will serve you well. I doubt any GM will take your 3rd when they know you have 3 2nd's though, can't be greedy. |

Sorry guys but there is no way Flames take Fucale with a 1st. We have Brossoit & Gilles & Ortio developing as they should be, with at least one being able to crack the NHL. We have sooo many needs & there are so many good skaters available, no Fucale. Goaltending is the one area we have any depth in the cupboards.
I do like Morrisey. |

Never heard of any of your goalies...are they even highly regarded? Making it into the NHL as a backup doesn't count. You need a legit starter after Kipper and Fucale has the potential to be that. Since you have 3 picks, picking him with the last one would be good imo. |

Ortio had a standout world juniors not to long ago and has been doing exceptional well in the fin league. Broissoit led his to the memorial cup last year to come up short in the finals against a stacked London team, and was defeated by portland in this years whl finals. Gillies helped lead the U.S to gold at world juniors and has had some steller at as an NCAA rookie this year. All of then are very highly regarded goaltenders. Along with reto Berra who should have played in the gold medal game for the Swiss in this years world championship as everyone except the coach could see he was the better goalie.
What worries me about Fucale is that he played with both MacKinnon and Drouin. Sorta like Marc Andre fluery for most part of his years in Pittsburg. He's always been overrated. He had Malkin and Crosby on his team so they usually just out scored their opponents. I'm worried that Fucale isn't as good as everyone said as Halifax easily out scored most of their opponents. I think Fucale will either be a mid 1st or an early second. |

Really? Brossoit was WHL player of the year last year & backstopped Oil Kings to the Memorial Cup, he was cut from last fall Team Canada even though it was felt he had outplayed Subban. He went on & played phenomenal in the 2nd half of the WHL for the Oil Kings. You can easily check his numbers. Gilles won awards & his teams MVP in the USHL in his first year. Incredible numbers on a crummy team, was the backup for Gibson on team USA this last WJC. Take note as he will probably be the starter for USA next year if he plays anything like he did last year. Ortio is well into his development & had played in the Finnish elite league, understandable you haven't heard of him. He did play starting goal for Finland for the Finnish junior team in Buffalo a few years ago. Immediately we have Ramo whose numbers were great in the KHL I guess we'll find out quick how they translate here & we also have Berra signed who played for Switzerland in the most recent World Championships & you could easily check his numbers out. Goalies take so long to develop, for the Flames to waste a 1st rounder on one this year, well that would be just a waste & certainly not drafting for organizational need. After this last year, we are already braced for life after Kipper. Sorry if you haven't heard of these guys, you will. |

I am not a flames fan (oilers fan) but even I've heard of 2 of the 3. I have been to many oil kings games and believe me he is the real deal and a key reason they made it to back to back whl championships. with every game saving save I have seen him make it killed me to know he was a flames prospect. I see time frame for him being about 2-3 years starting in the echl (so he can start and play the bulk of their games). he could play another year of junior as an overager with the oil kings but even our GM bob green admits hes ready to go pro. |
